KEY INFORMATION
Embarking on the transformative interior renovation of the historic Gothic-style church at 1133 Spring Garden Street, originally designed by Patrick Neeley in 1848-1849, is an architectural venture that seamlessly marries heritage preservation with contemporary functionality. The majestic building, adorned with intricate ironwork and flanked by two towers, stands as a testament to the city's architectural legacy. Closed by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 1995, our project now seeks to breathe new life into this architectural gem.
Our vision encompasses the meticulous restoration of the church's interior, preserving its distinctive Gothic features while adapting the space for a modern hospitality purpose. The focal point is obtaining the necessary permits for the conversion into a boutique hotel with 33 guest rooms and accessory uses. The adaptive reuse respects the building's historical significance while meeting contemporary hospitality standards. Collaborating with preservation authorities, our design integrates modern amenities seamlessly within the existing structure, ensuring a harmonious blend of the old and the new. The ironwork-fenced cellar, once a spiritual space, transforms into an inviting retreat for guests.
This project reflects not only our commitment to architectural innovation but also our dedication to revitalizing and repurposing historical landmarks, creating a harmonious fusion of past and present. The forthcoming hotel at 1133 Spring Garden Street will stand as a testament to the successful intersection of preservation, functionality, and modernity.
